Light

With many lamps, the color temperature can be adjusted via app. In this model, the color temperature ranges from 2000 kelvin to 6500 kelvin. Conventional light bulbs usually consume more power than an LED lamp to provide the same illumination of the room. However, in order to be able to make a comparison between the various illuminants, the specification of the lumens is increasingly made. This is the amount of light emitted in a certain time, without paying attention to the power consumption. For comparison: A conventional light bulb with 40W power will show about 400-450 lumens. The Smarthome light considered here, on the other hand, emits 500 lumen. Typical light bulbs from the old days usually consume about 25-40 watts per hour. The smarthome light described here Hue Bloom Table Lamp (White; US) gets by in comparison with 7.1 w. However, it is important to note that Philips is free to define this specification within certain limits. It is therefore possible that the power consumption may deviate slightly when the light is on at full brightness.

Design

Unfortunately, in this case, we have to start with bad news regarding the design, because the sustainability aspect was neglected in the light sources installed in the device. The manufacturer did not take the replacement of the bulbs into account, which means that the entire device has to be replaced. The housing is made of metal/plastic in the attractive color White. This light weighs 452 g.

Protection

The IP classification determines the degree of protection that mechanical and electrical housings offer against the ingress of foreign bodies, dust, accidental contact and water. These smart home lights have a classification of IP20.
