Specifications
The company Philips offers with its product Hue Nyro Outdoor Pedestal a smarthome solution in the field of lighting. We have categorized this product as Path Light.
Communication
A wide variety of technologies can be used to control the Smarthome light, each of which can have its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, control via Wifi can be integrated into an existing network over longer distances, but consumes more power than, for example, Zigbee or Bluetooth. Wifi is therefore only suitable for devices that are permanently connected to the power grid. Hue Nyro Outdoor Pedestal supports the following technologies:
- Zigbee
Supported functions
The following features/functions are supported by this device:
- Switch the light on or off via your smartphone or the Bridge.
- Change the brightness.
- Changing the color temperature like warm or cool white.
- Multiple colors can be selected in the smartphone app.
- The luminaire can be configured to emit a white light.
- Over-the-air updates
- Automatic switch-on behavior.
Third party integrations
Don't want to use the integration/bridge that the manufacturer Philips specifies? That's not a problem. See the list below for all verified integrations that work with Hue Nyro Outdoor Pedestal :

Light
With many lamps, the color temperature can be adjusted via app. In this model, the color temperature ranges from 2000 kelvin to 6500 kelvin. Conventional light bulbs usually consume more power than an LED lamp to provide the same illumination of the room. However, in order to be able to make a comparison between the various illuminants, the specification of the lumens is increasingly made. This is the amount of light emitted in a certain time, without paying attention to the power consumption. For comparison: A conventional light bulb with 40W power will show about 400-450 lumens. The Smarthome light considered here, on the other hand, emits 1000 lumen. Power consumption was reported at 13.5 w from Philips.
Design
If we look at the design, we inevitably have to look at the smart light's casing. Complete systems are often offered particularly pretty or compact. Unfortunately, this also means that opening the housing is not provided and changing the light source is not possible. However, if it is a smart device with a lamp socket, for example, the illuminants can be changed in the simplest way. In this case, it is unfortunately not possible to change the bulbs used from Hue Nyro Outdoor Pedestal because they are permanently installed. This is usually the case with smart light bulbs and cannot be solved without problems, for example at Philips. The case is made of Aluminum in a black color. This light weighs 2.43 kg.
Protection
The IP rating classifies and evaluates the level of protection that mechanical and electrical enclosures provide against ingress, dust, accidental contact and water. These smarthome lights are classified as IP44.
