Specifications
In this article, we will list all known specifications for the Leptiter LED smarthome light from IKEA. We have categorized this product as spot.
Communication
A smarthome device only becomes truly smart when it integrates and communicates with other devices. For this task, IKEA relies on the following technologies to ensure communication and possible automations:
- Zigbee
Supported functions
The following features/functions are supported by this device:
- Switch the light on or off via your smartphone or the Bridge.
- Change the brightness.
- Changing the color temperature like warm or cool white.
- The luminaire can be configured to emit a white light.
- Automatic switch-on behavior.
Third party integrations
Don't want to use the integration/bridge that the manufacturer IKEA specifies? That's not a problem. See the list below for all verified integrations that work with Leptiter LED :
- Zigbee2MQTT
- ioBroker
- Zigate
- Deconz
- Zigbee home automation
Light
The lamp can assume a color temperature between 2200 and 4000 kelvin. The lumen specification describes the brightness of the illuminant. The higher this value is, the brighter the room is illuminated. A 60W incandescent bulb has an average of about 700 lumens, a 60W halogen tube as well. The smart bulb under consideration here emits about 600 lumen according to the manufacturer's information from IKEA.
Design
If we look at the design, we inevitably have to look at the smart light's casing. Complete systems are often offered particularly pretty or compact. Unfortunately, this also means that opening the housing is not provided and changing the light source is not possible. However, if it is a smart device with a lamp socket, for example, the illuminants can be changed in the simplest way. In this case, it is unfortunately not possible to change the bulbs used from Leptiter LED because they are permanently installed. This is usually the case with smart light bulbs and cannot be solved without problems, for example at IKEA. IKEA chose plastic as the casing material. The color was kept in white.
Protection
The IP rating classifies and evaluates the level of protection that mechanical and electrical enclosures provide against ingress, dust, accidental contact and water. These smarthome lights are classified as IP44.
