Specifications

In this article, we will list all known specifications for the Smart+ Spot GU10 Tunable White smarthome light from Ledvance. We have categorized this product as Spot.

Communication

A wide variety of technologies can be used to control the Smarthome light, each of which can have its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, control via Wifi can be integrated into an existing network over longer distances, but consumes more power than, for example, Zigbee or Bluetooth. Wifi is therefore only suitable for devices that are permanently connected to the power grid. Smart+ Spot GU10 Tunable White supports the following technologies:

  • Zigbee
To control this device, you must own or purchase a corresponding hub.

Supported functions

The following features/functions are supported by this device:

  • Switch the light on or off via your smartphone or the Bridge.
  • Change the brightness.
  • Changing the color temperature like warm or cool white.
  • The luminaire can be configured to emit a white light.
  • Automatic switch-on behavior.

Third party integrations

Don't want to use the integration/bridge that the manufacturer Ledvance specifies? That's not a problem. See the list below for all verified integrations that work with Smart+ Spot GU10 Tunable White :

  • Zigbee2MQTT
  • ioBroker

Light

The lamp can assume a color temperature between 2700 and 6500 kelvin. Conventional light bulbs usually consume more power than an LED lamp to provide the same illumination of the room. However, in order to be able to make a comparison between the various illuminants, the specification of the lumens is increasingly made. This is the amount of light emitted in a certain time, without paying attention to the power consumption. For comparison: A conventional light bulb with 40W power will show about 400-450 lumens. The Smarthome light considered here, on the other hand, emits 350 lumen. Typical light bulbs from the old days usually consume about 25-40 watts per hour. The smarthome light described here Smart+ Spot GU10 Tunable White gets by in comparison with 4.5 w.

Design

While LED's usually have a much longer life span than conventional bulbs, the replacement of the bulbs was not made possible by Ledvance. Admittedly, this is acceptable for pure light bulbs, but larger housings could cause more electrical waste. Ledvance chose plastic/glas as the casing material. The color was kept in white. You should expect the product weight to be around 80 g.

Protection

Please be careful when exposing these lights to water, dust or mechanical stress because the Smart+ Spot GU10 Tunable White does not have IP certification.
