Specifications

The company Zemismart offers with its product 12W RGBW Downlight a smarthome solution in the field of lighting. We have categorized this product as ceiling-mounted spot.

Communication

A wide variety of technologies can be used to control the Smarthome light, each of which can have its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, control via Wifi can be integrated into an existing network over longer distances, but consumes more power than, for example, Zigbee or Bluetooth. Wifi is therefore only suitable for devices that are permanently connected to the power grid. 12W RGBW Downlight supports the following technologies:

  • Zigbee
Attention. This light does not work without a separately available hub.

Supported functions

The following features/functions are supported by this device:

  • Switch the light on or off via your smartphone or the Bridge.
  • Change the brightness.
  • Changing the color temperature like warm or cool white.
  • Multiple colors can be selected in the smartphone app.
  • The luminaire can be configured to emit a white light.
  • Automatic switch-on behavior.

Third party integrations

Don't want to use the integration/bridge that the manufacturer Zemismart specifies? That's not a problem. See the list below for all verified integrations that work with 12W RGBW Downlight :

  • Zigbee2MQTT
  • ioBroker
  • Deconz
  • Zigbee home automation

Light

With many lamps, the color temperature can be adjusted via app. In this model, the color temperature ranges from 2700 kelvin to 6500 kelvin. The unit lumen is a measurement to determine the amount of light emitted per given time. Conversely, this means that the higher the lumen, the brighter a lamp shines. As a rule, for example, 500-600 lumens per square meter are sufficient to illuminate a bathroom. For comparison, the 12W RGBW Downlight is given as 490. Typical light bulbs from the old days usually consume about 25-40 watts per hour. The smarthome light described here 12W RGBW Downlight gets by in comparison with 12 w. However, it is important to note that Zemismart is free to define this specification within certain limits. It is therefore possible that the power consumption may deviate slightly when the light is on at full brightness.

Design

While LED's usually have a much longer life span than conventional bulbs, the replacement of the bulbs was not made possible by Zemismart. Admittedly, this is acceptable for pure light bulbs, but larger housings could cause more electrical waste. The housing is made of white metal/plastic.

Protection

Please be careful when exposing these lights to water, dust or mechanical stress because the 12W RGBW Downlight does not have IP certification.
