Specifications

12W RGBW Downlight is a smarthome light manufactured by Zemismart. We have categorized this product as ceiling-mounted spot.

Communication

A wide variety of technologies can be used to control the Smarthome light, each of which can have its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, control via Wifi can be integrated into an existing network over longer distances, but consumes more power than, for example, Zigbee or Bluetooth. Wifi is therefore only suitable for devices that are permanently connected to the power grid. 12W RGBW Downlight supports the following technologies:

  • Zigbee
Important note: This light requires a separately available hub in order to function properly.

Supported functions

The following features/functions are supported by this device:

  • Control the light conveniently with your smartphone or the Bridge - switch it on or off as required.
  • Change the brightness.
  • Changing the color temperature like warm or cool white.
  • The smartphone app allows you to choose from different shades.
  • The luminaire can be configured to emit a white light.
  • Automatic switch-on behavior.

Third party integrations

Don't want to use the integration/bridge that the manufacturer Zemismart specifies? That's not a problem. See the list below for all verified integrations that work with 12W RGBW Downlight :

  • Connection via Zigbee2MQTT
  • ioBroker
  • Deconz
  • Intelligent home control with Zigbee home automation

Light

The light source is capable of generating a color temperature of 2700 to 6500 kelvin. The unit lumen is a measurement to determine the amount of light emitted per given time. Conversely, this means that the higher the lumen, the brighter a lamp shines. As a rule, for example, 500-600 lumens per square meter are sufficient to illuminate a bathroom. For comparison, the 12W RGBW Downlight is given as 490. Zemismart has defined the power consumption for the devices described here with 12 w. However, the specification may differ from the actual power consumption depending on which colors/color temperatures and brightnesses are set. For example, while manufacturers mostly measure lumens at white color and full brightness, the power consumption might have been measured at slight dimming. However, it would also be possible to measure at full brightness, which could lower the power consumption at 12 w. In short, this is an approximate guide from Zemismart.

Design

While LED's usually have a much longer life span than conventional bulbs, the replacement of the bulbs was not made possible by Zemismart. Admittedly, this is acceptable for pure light bulbs, but larger housings could cause more electrical waste. Zemismart chose metal/plastic as the casing material. The color was kept in white.

Protection

Make sure that these lights do not come into contact with water, dust or mechanical influences, as the 12W RGBW Downlight does not have IP certification.
