Light

With many lamps, the color temperature can be adjusted via app. In this model, the color temperature ranges from 2000 kelvin to 6500 kelvin. Conventional light bulbs usually consume more power than an LED lamp to provide the same illumination of the room. However, in order to be able to make a comparison between the various illuminants, the specification of the lumens is increasingly made. This is the amount of light emitted in a certain time, without paying attention to the power consumption. For comparison: A conventional light bulb with 40W power will show about 400-450 lumens. The Smarthome light considered here, on the other hand, emits 570 lumen. Typical light bulbs from the old days usually consume about 25-40 watts per hour. The smarthome light described here Hue Iris White gets by in comparison with 8.1 w.

Design

While LED's usually have a much longer life span than conventional bulbs, the replacement of the bulbs was not made possible by Philips. Admittedly, this is acceptable for pure light bulbs, but larger housings could cause more electrical waste. The housing is made of white synthetic & metal. The device weighs 860 g.

Protection

The Smarthome lights are classified as IP20 and may be able to withstand water, dust or accidental contact to a certain degree. For more information, see IP code on Wikipedia.
