Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the Ultragear QHD from LG.
Display
The monitor belongs to the device class 32 inches ( 32 zoll on the diagonal). The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 px. This corresponds to QHD.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
- HDR
- HDR 10
screen design
The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 10.48 kg. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use.
The monitor, or rather the built-in OS, is controlled via a 5-way joystick. This allows navigating by moving the stick up, down, left or right. The input is usually confirmed by clicking the joystick. This input method makes it possible to change settings without having to search for different buttons under or next to the device. For easier cable management, the stand offers the possibility to hide the cables leading to the monitor.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from LG has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. The Ultragear QHD can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. The monitor Ultragear QHD can be tilted.
Ports
The connection of a device via display port is supported. There are 1 HDMI ports on the monitor.
camera
This monitor does not have a camera.
Loudspeaker
The monitor from LG has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The monitor does not have a built-in subwoofer.
Features
- AMD FreeSync: By dynamically synchronizing the refresh rate of the Ultragear QHD with the frame rate, AMD FreeSync minimizes judder and ensures smooth and enjoyable gameplay.
- AMD FreeSync Premium: By dynamically synchronizing the refresh rate of the Ultragear QHD with frame rate, AMD FreeSync Premium minimizes judder and ensures smooth and enjoyable gaming. In addition, AMD FreeSync Premium guarantees that the monitor operates at a minimum of 120Hz at FHD and low framerate compensation (LFC) is available.
- Integrated KVM Switch
- Nvidia G-SYNC
Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that LG offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor Ultragear QHD. Game mode allows you to enjoy an enhanced gaming experience on your monitor. This mode can combine different settings on your monitor to provide a better picture and therefore an improved gaming experience.
WiFi / Bluetooth
This monitor from LG does not have a built-in Wi-Fi module. Bluetooth will have to be missed with this monitor.
Power consumption
Generally, these values should be taken with a grain of salt, since the power consumption is highly dependent on the current conditions. A monitor usually consumes much more power in bright scenes with a high refresh rate than in dark still pictures. In addition, the Ultragear QHD has a (smart) energy-saving mode, which is supposed to ensure a lower average power consumption. Ultragear QHD supports a static ECO mode, which for example lowers the refresh rate, reduces brightness and disables AI functions to save energy. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
