Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the E50u-D2 from Vizio.
Display
Let's start with the size of the actual display. This information is given in inches and measures the screen diagonal of the display. It can happen that displays with the same size specification have different dimensions, since square monitors, for example, can belong to the same category as a widescreen monitor. The monitor from Vizio in this article has a size of 49 inches ( 1.2570000000000001 m on the diagonal). As already known, two monitors with different outer dimensions can have the same screen diagonal. In the case of the monitor E50u-D2 , we find an aspect ratio of 1.778 to 116. This means that for every 116 pixels in height, 1.778 pixels in width are added. For comparison: A classic CRT monitor had an aspect ratio of 4:3. Around 91.4 % of the front surface of the monitor consists of the display, while the rest is made up of screen edges that cannot display images. If you want to place several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to prefer those with narrow edges. The display is a VA panel. The panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 px. The pixel density is 89 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.285 mm. The panel is illuminated by Direct LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Vizio promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 50 hz up to 60 hz.

Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. In contrast to the static contrast ratio, the dynamic contrast ratio changes the brightness of the panel itself in addition to the difference measurement from black to white. In addition to the difference between the brightest and the darkest pixel, the backlight is thus changed. Since the brightness of the panel may not be able to be adjusted exactly to a single pixel, a so-called halo effect is possible. The value of 50000000 : 1 of dynamic contrast ratio for the monitor E50u-D2 cannot provide any information about the severity of the halo effect here. Therefore, it is more useful to compare the static contrast ratio.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
screen design
Vizio Specifies the following dimensions for the monitor E50u-D2 without stand/feet: 65.4 cm x 1.128 m x 8.6 cm (HxWxD)
The size of the monitor (stand included) is 71.3 x 1.128 x 26.9 m (HxWxD). The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 13.1 kg. The monitor E50u-D2 without the stand weighs 12.7 kg. This weight reduction should be taken into account for wall or arm mounting, since monitor arms have a maximum load capacity. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from Vizio cannot be rotated. The monitor cannot be swiveled. This feature could be retrofitted with a third-party stand. A tilt function was not provided by Vizio with the included stand.
Ports
The monitor named ' E50u-D2 ' has 1 RJ45 Ethernet port(s), which enables a wired network connection. This port offers users the possibility to connect the device directly to a wired network, which can be beneficial in environments with a reliable and fast internet connection.
camera
This monitor does not have a camera.
Loudspeaker
Features
WiFi / Bluetooth
This model ( E50u-D2 ) supports Wi-Fi. This wireless network connection allows devices to display content from a smartphone or tablet, for example, or to download apps from an app store, similar to TVs. However, monitors usually do not have this functionality because they are only operated in connection with a notebook or PC. The protocols are supported:
The E50u-D2 supports Bluetooth.
Power consumption
In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 88.9 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The monitor has a built-in ambient light sensor, which can be used, for example, to dynamically adjust the brightness of the monitor to the ambient conditions.
