Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the E65-E1 from Vizio.
Display
The display is sized at 64 inches ( 1.639 m on the diagonal). Let's keep it short and sweet. The monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 116. If you want to pay attention to special aesthetics or simply want to place several monitors next to each other, you should pay attention to the ratio between display and non-display. The E65-E1 is a monitor with a ratio of 93.2 % between usable and non-usable front surface. The display is a VA panel. The panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 px. The pixel density is 68 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.372 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer Vizio is 250 nt. The panel is illuminated by Direct LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 176 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Vizio promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 176 ° vertical angle. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 50 hz up to 60 hz. The average response time of the monitor is about ms.
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 10 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 83 %. The REC 2020 color space is covered to 60 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from Vizio has a static contrast ratio of 5300 : 1 , according to the manufacturer. In contrast to the static contrast ratio, the dynamic contrast ratio changes the brightness of the panel itself in addition to the difference measurement from black to white. In addition to the difference between the brightest and the darkest pixel, the backlight is thus changed. Since the brightness of the panel may not be able to be adjusted exactly to a single pixel, a so-called halo effect is possible. The value of 5000000 : 1 of dynamic contrast ratio for the monitor E65-E1 cannot provide any information about the severity of the halo effect here. Therefore, it is more useful to compare the static contrast ratio.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
- HDR 10
screen design
For the installation of the monitor, a space requirement of approximately 84 cm in height, 1.464 m in width and 7.8 cm in depth is to be assumed.
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 90.5 x 1.464 x 29 m (HxWxD) of space. As for the weight, Vizio states a total weight of 23.2 kg with stand. According to Vizio , you can expect a weight of about 22.7 kg without the stand. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from Vizio cannot be rotated. The monitor cannot be swiveled. This feature could be retrofitted with a third-party stand. A tilt function was not provided by Vizio with the included stand.
Ports
The monitor named ' E65-E1 ' has 1 RJ45 Ethernet port(s), which enables a wired network connection. This port offers users the possibility to connect the device directly to a wired network, which can be beneficial in environments with a reliable and fast internet connection.
camera
This monitor does not have a camera.
Loudspeaker
Features
- The display/monitor supports Frame Rate Compensation.
WiFi / Bluetooth
This model ( E65-E1 ) supports Wi-Fi. This wireless network connection allows devices to display content from a smartphone or tablet, for example, or to download apps from an app store, similar to TVs. However, monitors usually do not have this functionality because they are only operated in connection with a notebook or PC. The protocols are supported:
The E65-E1 supports Bluetooth.
Power consumption
The average consumption figure for E65-E1 is 120.36 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 150 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 80 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The monitor has a built-in ambient light sensor, which can be used, for example, to dynamically adjust the brightness of the monitor to the ambient conditions.
