Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the V505-G9 from Vizio.
Display
Games, texts, videos and/or other applications can be displayed on the monitor's 49 inches ( 1.2570000000000001 m on the diagonal). As already known, two monitors with different outer dimensions can have the same screen diagonal. In the case of the monitor V505-G9 , we find an aspect ratio of 1.778 to 116. This means that for every 116 pixels in height, 1.778 pixels in width are added. For comparison: A classic CRT monitor had an aspect ratio of 4:3. If you want to pay attention to special aesthetics or simply want to place several monitors next to each other, you should pay attention to the ratio between display and non-display. The V505-G9 is a monitor with a ratio of 92.7 % between usable and non-usable front surface. The display is a VA panel. The panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 px. The pixel density is 89 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.285 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer Vizio is 200 nt. The maximum brightness of the monitor is 300 nt on the panel. The panel is illuminated by Direct LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Vizio promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 50 hz up to 60 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The maximum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms.
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 10 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 85 %. The REC 2020 color space is covered to 65 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from Vizio has a static contrast ratio of 7500 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
- HDR 10
- HDR HLG
- Dolby Vision
screen design
For a possible wall mounting or comparison to the currently owned monitor at the beginning, the dimensions of the monitor without stand/feet: 65 cm x 1.12 m x 6.1 cm (HxWxD)
The size of the monitor (stand included) is 71.1 x 1.12 x 25.5 m (HxWxD). The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 9.9 kg. A wall mount should be designed for at least 9.67 kg to hold the V505-G9 neatly and securely. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from Vizio cannot be rotated. The monitor cannot be swiveled. This feature could be retrofitted with a third-party stand. A tilt function was not provided by Vizio with the included stand.
Ports
The monitor named ' V505-G9 ' has 1 RJ45 Ethernet port(s), which enables a wired network connection. This port offers users the possibility to connect the device directly to a wired network, which can be beneficial in environments with a reliable and fast internet connection.
camera
This monitor does not have a camera.
Loudspeaker
Features
- The display/monitor supports Frame Rate Compensation.
WiFi / Bluetooth
This model ( V505-G9 ) supports Wi-Fi. This wireless network connection allows devices to display content from a smartphone or tablet, for example, or to download apps from an app store, similar to TVs. However, monitors usually do not have this functionality because they are only operated in connection with a notebook or PC. The protocols are supported:
Power consumption
The average consumption figure for V505-G9 is 90 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 135 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 40 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The monitor has a built-in ambient light sensor, which can be used, for example, to dynamically adjust the brightness of the monitor to the ambient conditions.
