Today we will look at the monitor VP2768a from ViewSonic from the year 2020. Within this article, we will first take a closer look at the most important feature of a monitor -the display-, then the design, and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Of course, power consumption, certifications, connectivity and other important details will also be considered.

Display

Games, texts, videos and/or other applications can be displayed on the monitor's 27 inches ( 68.5 cm on the diagonal). Television screens and monitors usually have an aspect ratio of 16:9 (approximately 1.78:1). More rarely, computer monitors are also found with an aspect ratio of 16:10.
Ultrawidemonitors are often manufactured with an aspect ratio of 21:9 (approximately 2.34:1). They are mainly used for computer games and as an alternative to two side-by-side screens. The first devices of this type came onto the market around 2014. Against this backdrop, the monitor VP2768a from ViewSonic faces an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 116.
In addition to the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, some enthusiasts may also be interested in the ratio between the monitor area and the actual display. This refers to the general ratio between the non-display area and the display. In other words, approximately 92.5 % of the front surface of the monitor consists of the display, while the rest is made up of screen edges and cannot display an image. When arranging several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to choose models with the narrowest possible edges. The display is a IPS panel. The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 px. The pixel density is 109 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.233 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer ViewSonic is 350 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. ViewSonic promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the VP2768a 15 khz to 90 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 24 hz up to 75 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 78 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 83 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 100 %.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from ViewSonic has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

screen design

The following dimensions must be planned for a free-standing stand without attached feet/stand: 35.3 cm x 61.3 cm x 5 cm (HxWxD)
The size of the VP2768a on the desk is likely to be particularly relevant for most users. ViewSonic specifies a space requirement of 41 x 61.3 x 21.5 cm (HxWxD) with the included stand. If you want to place the monitor on a table or even transport it, you should expect a weight of 6.9 kg with the stand screwed in. The monitor VP2768a without the stand weighs 4.4 kg. This weight reduction should be taken into account for wall or arm mounting, since monitor arms have a maximum load capacity. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 13 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from ViewSonic has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 90 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The VP2768a can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 60 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 60 degree. It is possible to adjust the tilt angle of the monitor VP2768a according to personal preference to ensure ergonomic and comfortable viewing. The angle of inclination to the rear is 21. The monitor can be tilted forward by 6 degree.

Ports

With the built-in 1 RJ45 Ethernet port(s) on the ' VP2768a ' monitor, users can establish a wired network connection. This feature provides a stable connectivity option for those who need a reliable network connection, whether for professional tasks or mission-critical applications.

Features

Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that ViewSonic offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor VP2768a.

WiFi / Bluetooth

Power consumption

The average consumption figure for VP2768a is 32 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 35 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.3 w. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 26.5 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 40 °C during operation. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from ViewSonic should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 90 percent. At least, however, 20 percent humidity.

Packaging

The monitor is packaged in a cardboard box measuring 46 x 72 x 26.8 cm (height x width x depth). The box together with the monitor weighs about 9.6 kg.
