Product image for KDL-43WE753

Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the KDL-43WE753 monitor from Sony. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.

Display

Videos and/or other applications can be displayed on the monitor's 42 inches ( 1.08 m on the diagonal). While classic CRT monitors were built with a screen ratio of 4:3, this monitor has a ratio of 1.778 : 116 (width to height). Approximately 90.5 % of the front surface of the monitor is covered by the display, while the remaining area consists of screen edges that do not allow any image output. If you want to set up several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to prefer models with the narrowest possible edges. The display is a IPS panel. The panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 px. The pixel density is 52 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.49 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer Sony is 400 nt. The panel is illuminated by Edge LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Sony promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 50 hz up to 60 hz.

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from Sony has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

screen design

The following dimensions must be planned for a free-standing stand without attached feet/stand: 57.1 cm x 96.4 cm x 7 cm (HxWxD)
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 61.9 x 96.4 x 23.6 cm (HxWxD) of space. As for the weight, Sony states a total weight of 9.7 kg with stand. According to Sony , you can expect a weight of about 9.1 kg without the stand. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from Sony cannot be rotated. The monitor cannot be swiveled. This feature could be retrofitted with a third-party stand. A tilt function was not provided by Sony with the included stand.

Ports

With the built-in 1 RJ45 Ethernet port(s) on the ' KDL-43WE753 ' monitor, users can establish a wired network connection. This feature provides a stable connectivity option for those who need a reliable network connection, whether for professional tasks or mission-critical applications.

Features

WiFi / Bluetooth

This model ( KDL-43WE753 ) supports Wi-Fi. This wireless network connection allows devices to display content from a smartphone or tablet, for example, or to download apps from an app store, similar to TVs. However, monitors usually do not have this functionality because they are only operated in connection with a notebook or PC. The protocols are supported: WiFi 802.11b WiFi 802.11g WiFi 802.11n
Wi-Fi Direct is supported by KDL-43WE753 , which is a standard for data transfer between two WLAN devices without a central wireless access point. This functionality makes it possible, for example, to send and display pictures and videos directly to the monitor without a Wi-Fi connection to the router.

Power consumption

The average consumption was given by Sony as 51 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 75 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 40 °C during operation. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from Sony should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 10 percent humidity.
