NEC MultiSync PA271Q

Product image for MultiSync PA271Q

Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the MultiSync PA271Q monitor from NEC. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.

Display

Let's start with the size of the actual display. This information is given in inches and measures the screen diagonal of the display. It can happen that displays with the same size specification have different dimensions, since square monitors, for example, can belong to the same category as a widescreen monitor. The monitor from NEC in this article has a size of 27 inches ( 68.4 cm on the diagonal). As already mentioned or known, monitors have a certain number of pixels in height and width. In most cases, this is not a 1:1 ratio, which is also the case with the monitor from NEC. This monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 1. This means that every 1.778 pixels in width 1 pixels in height are added. Besides the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, the ratio between the monitor surface and the actual display is probably also relevant for some enthusiasts. This is the general ratio of non-display to display. In other words, 82.6 % of the monitor's front area consists of the display. The remaining percent consists of screen edges and cannot display an image. If you want to place several monitors next to each other, you should make sure that the edges are as small as possible. The display is a IPS panel. The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 px. The pixel density is 109 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.233 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer NEC is 350 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. NEC promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the MultiSync PA271Q 15 khz to 92 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 23 hz up to 86 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 10 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 98 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the NTSC 1953 color space is 96 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 100 %. The REC 2020 color space is covered to 81 %.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from NEC has a static contrast ratio of 1500 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

screen design

The monitor has a width of 64 cm without its attached stand/stand. The height is dimensioned at about 37.8 cm , while the for the depth of the monitor should be kept free at about 6.5 cm.
The size of the MultiSync PA271Q on the desk is likely to be particularly relevant for most users. NEC specifies a space requirement of 39.5 x 64 x 23.3 cm (HxWxD) with the included stand. The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 9.7 kg. According to NEC , you can expect a weight of about 6.9 kg without the stand. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 15 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from NEC has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 90 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The MultiSync PA271Q can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 170 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 170 degree. The tilt of the monitor MultiSync PA271Q can be individually adjusted to optimize the viewing angle and increase comfort during use. The angle of inclination to the rear is 35. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Ports

With the built-in 1 RJ45 Ethernet port(s) on the ' MultiSync PA271Q ' monitor, users can establish a wired network connection. This feature provides a stable connectivity option for those who need a reliable network connection, whether for professional tasks or mission-critical applications.

camera

This monitor does not have a camera.

Loudspeaker

Features

  • Picture in Picture mode
  • The display/monitor supports Frame Rate Compensation.

Ambix technology allows multiple devices such as computers, laptops, video devices and other sources to be connected to the monitor or TV simultaneously. This allows users to seamlessly switch between input sources and view content from different sources without having to reconnect cables each time.

WiFi / Bluetooth

Power consumption

On average, the monitor consumes approximately 50 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. MultiSync PA271Q supports a static ECO mode, which for example lowers the refresh rate, reduces brightness and disables AI functions to save energy. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

The monitor has a built-in ambient light sensor, which can be used, for example, to dynamically adjust the brightness of the monitor to the ambient conditions. The maximum height at which the monitor may be operated, according to the manufacturer's specifications, is 5 km. The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 35 °C during operation. Below a temperature of 5 °C , the monitor from NEC should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 20 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 85 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 10 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to NEC 60 °C. Minimal were given by NEC -10 °c. According to the manufacturer, the monitor may be stored at a maximum height of 12.192 km.
