Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the Optix MAG301RF monitor from MSI. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.

Any multimedia content can be displayed on 29 inches ( 74.9 cm on the diagonal). As already known, two monitors with different outer dimensions can have the same screen diagonal. MSI promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the Optix MAG301RF 66 khz to 250.7 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 48 hz up to 200 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte.
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 10 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 85 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 105 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality.

If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 39.9 x 70.9 x 23.4 cm (HxWxD) of space. The base itself has a depth of 23.4 cm. The device weighs 7.25 kg with the stand in place. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 13 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.
The monitor, or rather the built-in OS, is controlled via a 5-way joystick. This allows navigating by moving the stick up, down, left or right. The input is usually confirmed by clicking the joystick. This input method makes it possible to change settings without having to search for different buttons under or next to the device.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from MSI cannot be rotated. The Optix MAG301RF can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 45 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 45 degree. The monitor Optix MAG301RF can be tilted. The angle of inclination to the rear is 20. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that MSI offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor Optix MAG301RF. Game mode allows you to enjoy an enhanced gaming experience on your monitor. The maximum height at which the monitor may be operated, according to the manufacturer's specifications, is 2 km. The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 40 °C during operation. Below a temperature of 10 °C , the monitor from MSI should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 90 percent. At least, however, 20 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 90 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 10 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to MSI 60 °C. Packaging
