Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the 27GK75B monitor from LG. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.
Display
The display is sized at 27 inches ( 68.5 cm on the diagonal). While classic CRT monitors were built with a screen ratio of 4:3, this monitor has a ratio of 1.778 : 1 (width to height). In addition to the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, some enthusiasts may also be interested in the ratio between the monitor area and the actual display. The pixel density is 81 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.311 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer LG is 400 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 170 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. LG promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 160 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the 27GK75B 30 khz to 255 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 48 hz up to 240 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the NTSC 1953 color space is 72 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from LG has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer. The monitor from LG supports adaptive contrast management, dynamically adjusting the contrast ratio of the input signal to ensure razor-sharp image displays. Each scene is continuously analyzed by 27GK75B and the images are adjusted accordingly frame by frame. This analysis and dynamic adjustment of contrast is designed to enhance color quality and provide better black levels when displaying dark scenes and shaded/dark image sequences.

For the installation of the monitor, a space requirement of approximately 37 cm in height, 62.5 cm in width and 4 cm in depth is to be assumed.
The size of the 27GK75B on the desk is likely to be particularly relevant for most users. LG specifies a space requirement of 46.6 x 62.5 x 27.2 cm (HxWxD) with the included stand. The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 6.35 kg. A wall mount should be designed for at least 4.58 kg to hold the 27GK75B neatly and securely. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 11 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from LG has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 0 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The 27GK75B can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 20 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 20 degree. The monitor 27GK75B offers the option of adjusting the tilt as required to create an ergonomic working environment and reduce visual fatigue. The angle of inclination to the rear is 15. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

The monitor from LG supports the reduction of artifacts within dark image areas, which are caused by compression of the played video files, for example. Depending on the manufacturer, this technology is called Black Boost, Dark Boost, Black Stabilizer, Black Equalizer or Black Enhancement.
Panel manufacturer
Many manufacturers of monitors and TVs fall back on third-party manufacturers, such as Samsung or LG, when choosing the actual display (panel). Thus, many of the monitors have the same panel and, conversely, differ only in their design, additional functionalities, the software used and, of course, the price. Two monitors from LG or another manufacturer with an identical panel do not necessarily have to have the same picture quality, but it is usually a first indicator for a purchase decision. The panel used here is originally from AU Optronics and has the model number M270HTN02.3.

The average consumption figure for 27GK75B is 30 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 65 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 40 °C during operation. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from LG should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent.
