Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the 32GP850 monitor from LG. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.
Display
Videos and/or other applications can be displayed on the monitor's 31 inches ( 80.1 cm on the diagonal). As already known, two monitors with different outer dimensions can have the same screen diagonal. In the case of the monitor 32GP850 , we find an aspect ratio of 1.778 to 1. This means that for every 1 pixels in height, 1.778 pixels in width are added. For comparison: A classic CRT monitor had an aspect ratio of 4:3. Besides the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, the ratio between the monitor surface and the actual display is probably also relevant for some enthusiasts. This is the general ratio of non-display to display. In other words, 89.4 % of the monitor's front area consists of the display. The remaining percent consists of screen edges and cannot display an image. If you want to place several monitors next to each other, you should make sure that the edges are as small as possible. The display is a IPS panel. The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 px. The pixel density is 93 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.272 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer LG is 350 nt. Above all, bright environments are a challenge for monitors. The brightness of the monitor is crucial for an accurate and color-true reproduction of the image to outshine the ambient light. The panel of the 32GP850 shines with a brightness of 430 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. LG promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 48 hz up to 180 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 10 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 88 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 98 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 100 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from LG has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

screen design
For the installation of the monitor, a space requirement of approximately 42.8 cm in height, 71.4 cm in width and 5 cm in depth is to be assumed.
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 49 x 71.4 x 29.2 cm (HxWxD) of space. The base itself has a depth of 29.2 cm. If you want to place the monitor on a table or even transport it, you should expect a weight of 7.2 kg with the stand screwed in. A wall mount should be designed for at least 4.81 kg to hold the 32GP850 neatly and securely. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from LG has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 0 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The monitor cannot be swiveled. This feature could be retrofitted with a third-party stand. The monitor 32GP850 can be tilted. The angle of inclination to the rear is 15. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that LG offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor 32GP850. The monitor from LG supports the reduction of artifacts within dark image areas, which are caused by compression of the played video files, for example. Depending on the manufacturer, this technology is called Black Boost, Dark Boost, Black Stabilizer, Black Equalizer or Black Enhancement. Motion Blur Reduction (also referred to as Motion Blur Reduction Technology or Motion Blur Reduction Sync) is a feature of 32GP850 , which is used to reduce motion blur when objects move quickly on the screen. This is achieved through a combination of technologies such as backlight strobing, overdrive and others. This improves the response time of the pixels to reduce motion blur, which can be particularly beneficial for video games, action movies, or other content with fast movements. However, this feature can lead to brightness loss or flickering, so it is important to adjust the settings accordingly and choose depending on the application.

Power consumption
On average, the monitor consumes approximately 48 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 65 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 0.3 w. Generally, these values should be taken with a grain of salt, since the power consumption is highly dependent on the current conditions. A monitor usually consumes much more power in bright scenes with a high refresh rate than in dark still pictures. In addition, the 32GP850 has a (smart) energy-saving mode, which is supposed to ensure a lower average power consumption. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
During operation, the ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C , to ensure full functionality. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from LG should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 10 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 85 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 5 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to LG 60 °C. Minimal were given by LG -20 °C.
Packaging
The monitor is packaged in a cardboard box measuring 55.6 x 79.2 x 22.6 cm (height x width x depth). The box together with the monitor weighs about 10.12 kg.
