Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the AORUS FV43U monitor from Gigabyte. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.

Display

Let's start with the size of the display. It is 43 inches ( 1.092 m on the diagonal) large and should thus offer enough space for all contents according to Gigabyte. As already mentioned or known, monitors have a certain number of pixels in height and width. In most cases, this is not a 1:1 ratio, which is also the case with the monitor from Gigabyte. This monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 1. This means that every 1.778 pixels in width 1 pixels in height are added. Approximately 87.9 % of the front surface of the monitor is covered by the display, while the remaining area consists of screen edges that do not allow any image output. If you want to set up several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to prefer models with the narrowest possible edges. The display is a VA panel. The panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 px. The pixel density is 103 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.245 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer Gigabyte is 750 nt. The monitor's panel is characterized by its luminosity of 1000 nt. The panel is illuminated by Direct LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Gigabyte promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the AORUS FV43U 30 khz to 275 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 48 hz up to 144 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte.

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 10 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 99 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 97 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 150 %.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from Gigabyte has a static contrast ratio of 4000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

  • HDR 1000
  • HDR HLG

screen design

The following dimensions must be planned for a free-standing stand without attached feet/stand: 58.5 cm x 96.7 cm x 8.7 cm (HxWxD)
The size of the AORUS FV43U on the desk is likely to be particularly relevant for most users. Gigabyte specifies a space requirement of 63.8 x 96.7 x 25.1 cm (HxWxD) with the included stand. The base itself has a depth of 25.1 cm. The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 15.34 kg. The monitor AORUS FV43U without the stand weighs 10 kg. This weight reduction should be taken into account for wall or arm mounting, since monitor arms have a maximum load capacity. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from Gigabyte cannot be rotated. The monitor cannot be swiveled. This feature could be retrofitted with a third-party stand. The tilt of the monitor AORUS FV43U can be individually adjusted to optimize the viewing angle and increase comfort during use. The angle of inclination to the rear is 20. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Ports

camera

This monitor does not have a camera.

Loudspeaker

The monitor from Gigabyte has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The sound is emitted via 2 speakers, which are integrated into the device. Each of the built-in speakers has a contingent of 12 w power.

Features

  • Flicker Free: Gigabyte 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.
  • AMD FreeSync Premium: By dynamically synchronizing the refresh rate of the AORUS FV43U with frame rate, AMD FreeSync Premium minimizes judder and ensures smooth and enjoyable gaming. In addition, AMD FreeSync Premium guarantees that the monitor operates at a minimum of 120Hz at FHD and low framerate compensation (LFC) is available. The monitor earns the Pro with HDR support.
  • Picture in Picture mode
  • Integrated KVM Switch
  • Nvidia G-SYNC
  • The display/monitor supports Frame Rate Compensation.

Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that Gigabyte offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor AORUS FV43U. The Adaptive Sync feature of the AORUS FV43U dynamically varies the monitor's refresh rate and responds to the game's required frame rates. The monitor from Gigabyte supports the reduction of artifacts within dark image areas, which are caused by compression of the played video files, for example. Depending on the manufacturer, this technology is called Black Boost, Dark Boost, Black Stabilizer, Black Equalizer or Black Enhancement.

WiFi / Bluetooth

Power consumption

The average consumption was given by Gigabyte as 280 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 0.3 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

Packaging

The monitor is packaged in a cardboard box measuring 72.4 x 1.1 x 16 cm (height x width x depth).
