EIZO S2402W

Product image for S2402W

Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the S2402W monitor from EIZO. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.

Display

Games, texts, videos and/or other applications can be displayed on the monitor's 24 inches ( 61.1 cm on the diagonal). As already known, two monitors with different outer dimensions can have the same screen diagonal. In the case of the monitor S2402W , we find an aspect ratio of 1.6 to 1. This means that for every 1 pixels in height, 1.6 pixels in width are added. For comparison: A classic CRT monitor had an aspect ratio of 4:3. In addition to the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, some enthusiasts may also be interested in the ratio between the monitor area and the actual display. This refers to the general ratio between the non-display area and the display. In other words, approximately 80.8 % of the front surface of the monitor consists of the display, while the rest is made up of screen edges and cannot display an image. When arranging several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to choose models with the narrowest possible edges. The display is a TN panel. The panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 px. The pixel density is 94 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.27 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer EIZO is 300 nt. The panel is illuminated by CCFL. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 170 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. EIZO promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 160 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the S2402W 31 khz to 76 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 59 hz up to 61 hz. The analog refresh rate of this monitor is 31 khz to 94 khz. The frame rate in the analogue range is vertical at the S2402W 55 hz to 76 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from EIZO has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

screen design

Without the stand, the monitor comes with a width of 56.6 cm , a height of 36.7 cm and about 8.5 cm.
The size of the monitor (stand included) is 45.6 x 56.6 x 20.8 cm (HxWxD). As for the weight, EIZO states a total weight of 10.2 kg with stand. The monitor S2402W without the stand weighs 7.2 kg. This weight reduction should be taken into account for wall or arm mounting, since monitor arms have a maximum load capacity. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 8.2 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from EIZO has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 0 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The S2402W can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 35 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 35 degree. Thanks to the tilt function of the S2402W monitor, the screen position can be flexibly adjusted to minimize dazzling light sources and ensure optimum visibility. The angle of inclination to the rear is 40.

Ports

The monitor can be connected via 1 VGA ports.

camera

This monitor does not have a camera.

Loudspeaker

The monitor from EIZO has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The sound is emitted via 2 speakers, which are integrated into the device. Each of the built-in speakers has a contingent of 0.5 w power.

Features

  • The display/monitor supports Frame Rate Compensation.

WiFi / Bluetooth

Power consumption

The average consumption figure for S2402W is 27 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 58 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.7 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 0.5 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. There are 0.75 amps specified. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

For temperature, the maximum permissible ambient temperature is 35 °C. Below a temperature of 5 °C , the monitor from EIZO should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 30 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 80 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 30 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to EIZO 60 °C. Minimal were given by EIZO -20 °C.
