Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the S2432W from EIZO.

Display

According to the manufacturer, the display measures 24 inches ( 61.1 cm on the diagonal). Let's keep it short and sweet. The monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.6 : 1. Around 80.8 % of the front surface of the monitor consists of the display, while the rest is made up of screen edges that cannot display images. If you want to place several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to prefer those with narrow edges. The display is a S panel. The panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 px. The pixel density is 94 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.27 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer EIZO is 360 nt. The panel is illuminated by CCFL. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. EIZO promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the S2432W 31 khz to 76 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 59 hz up to 61 hz. The analog refresh rate of this monitor is 31 khz to 94 khz. The frame rate in the analogue range is vertical at the S2432W 55 hz to 76 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 96 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the NTSC 1953 color space is 92 %.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from EIZO has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

screen design

For the installation of the monitor, a space requirement of approximately 36.7 cm in height, 56.6 cm in width and 8.5 cm in depth is to be assumed.
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 45.6 x 56.6 x 20.8 cm (HxWxD) of space. As for the weight, EIZO states a total weight of 10.2 kg with stand. A wall mount should be designed for at least 7.2 kg to hold the S2432W neatly and securely. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 8.2 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from EIZO has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 0 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The S2432W can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 35 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 35 degree. The monitor S2432W offers the option of adjusting the tilt as required to create an ergonomic working environment and reduce visual fatigue. The angle of inclination to the rear is 40.

Ports

The monitor can be connected via 1 VGA ports.

camera

This monitor does not have a camera.

Loudspeaker

The monitor from EIZO has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The sound is emitted via 2 speakers, which are integrated into the device. Each of the built-in speakers has a contingent of 0.5 w power.

Features

WiFi / Bluetooth

Power consumption

The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 95 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 1.5 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 1 w. S2432W supports a static ECO mode, which for example lowers the refresh rate, reduces brightness and disables AI functions to save energy. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 40 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. There are 0.95 amps specified. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 35 °C during operation. Below a temperature of 5 °C , the monitor from EIZO should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 20 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 80 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 10 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to EIZO 60 °C. Minimal were given by EIZO -20 °C.
