EIZO EV2736WFS

Product image for EV2736WFS

Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the EV2736WFS monitor from EIZO. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.

Display

Let's start with the size of the display. It is 27 inches ( 68.4 cm on the diagonal) large and should thus offer enough space for all contents according to EIZO. As already known, two monitors with different outer dimensions can have the same screen diagonal. In the case of the monitor EV2736WFS , we find an aspect ratio of 1.778 to 1. This means that for every 1 pixels in height, 1.778 pixels in width are added. For comparison: A classic CRT monitor had an aspect ratio of 4:3. In addition to the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, some enthusiasts may also be interested in the ratio between the monitor area and the actual display. This refers to the general ratio between the non-display area and the display. In other words, approximately 82.5 % of the front surface of the monitor consists of the display, while the rest is made up of screen edges and cannot display an image. When arranging several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to choose models with the narrowest possible edges. The display is a PLS panel. The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 px. The pixel density is 109 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.233 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer EIZO is 300 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. EIZO promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the EV2736WFS 31 khz to 89 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 59 hz up to 61 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 70 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the NTSC 1953 color space is 72 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 96 %.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from EIZO has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

screen design

For the installation of the monitor, a space requirement of approximately 37.9 cm in height, 64 cm in width and 6.5 cm in depth is to be assumed.
The size of the EV2736WFS on the desk is likely to be particularly relevant for most users. EIZO specifies a space requirement of 39.9 x 64 x 24.5 cm (HxWxD) with the included stand. The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 10 kg. According to EIZO , you can expect a weight of about 7.3 kg without the stand. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 15 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from EIZO has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 0 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The EV2736WFS can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 172 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 172 degree. It is possible to adjust the tilt angle of the monitor EV2736WFS according to personal preference to ensure ergonomic and comfortable viewing. The angle of inclination to the rear is 35.

Ports

camera

This monitor does not have a camera.

Loudspeaker

The monitor from EIZO has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The sound is emitted via 2 speakers, which are integrated into the device. Each of the built-in speakers has a contingent of 1 w power.

Features

  • Flicker Free: EIZO 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.

Panel manufacturer

Many manufacturers of monitors and TVs fall back on third-party manufacturers, such as Samsung or LG, when choosing the actual display (panel). Thus, many of the monitors have the same panel and, conversely, differ only in their design, additional functionalities, the software used and, of course, the price. Two monitors from EIZO or another manufacturer with an identical panel do not necessarily have to have the same picture quality, but it is usually a first indicator for a purchase decision. The panel used here is originally from Samsung and has the model number LTM270DL02.

Power consumption

The average consumption figure for EV2736WFS is 24 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 67 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. EV2736WFS supports a static ECO mode, which for example lowers the refresh rate, reduces brightness and disables AI functions to save energy. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 15 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

The maximum permissible ambient temperature is 35 °C during operation. Below a temperature of 5 °C , the monitor from EIZO should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 20 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 90 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 10 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to EIZO 60 °C. Minimal were given by EIZO -20 °C.
