Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the EV2336W from EIZO.
Display
According to the manufacturer, the display measures 23 inches ( 58.4 cm on the diagonal). As already mentioned or known, monitors have a certain number of pixels in height and width. In most cases, this is not a 1:1 ratio, which is also the case with the monitor from EIZO. This monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 1. This means that every 1.778 pixels in width 1 pixels in height are added. Besides the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, the ratio between the monitor surface and the actual display is probably also relevant for some enthusiasts. This is the general ratio of non-display to display. In other words, 85.2 % of the monitor's front area consists of the display. The remaining percent consists of screen edges and cannot display an image. If you want to place several monitors next to each other, you should make sure that the edges are as small as possible. The display is a PLS panel. The panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 px. The pixel density is 95 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.266 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer EIZO is 300 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 170 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. EIZO promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 160 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the EV2336W 31 khz to 68 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 59 hz up to 61 hz. The analog refresh rate of this monitor is 31 khz to 81 khz. The frame rate in the analogue range is vertical at the EV2336W 55 hz to 76 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The maximum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from EIZO has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
screen design
EIZO Specifies the following dimensions for the monitor EV2336W without stand/feet: 31.7 cm x 54 cm x 5.6 cm (HxWxD)
The size of the monitor (stand included) is 36.8 x 54 x 23.3 cm (HxWxD). The device weighs 6.1 kg with the stand in place. Without stand, the monitor weighs 3.7 kg. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 14 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from EIZO has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 0 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The EV2336W can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 172 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 172 degree. The tilt of the monitor EV2336W can be individually adjusted to optimize the viewing angle and increase comfort during use. The angle of inclination to the rear is 35. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.
Ports
The monitor can be connected via 1 VGA ports. The connection of a device via display port is supported.
camera
This monitor does not have a camera.
Loudspeaker
The monitor from EIZO has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The sound is emitted via 2 speakers, which are integrated into the device. Each of the built-in speakers has a contingent of 1 w power.
Features
- Flicker Free: EIZO 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.
WiFi / Bluetooth
Power consumption
On average, the monitor consumes approximately 24 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 47 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.3 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 0.3 w. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 16 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. There are 0.8 amps specified. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The monitor has a built-in ambient light sensor, which can be used, for example, to dynamically adjust the brightness of the monitor to the ambient conditions. For temperature, the maximum permissible ambient temperature is 35 °C. Below a temperature of 5 °C , the monitor from EIZO should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 20 percent humidity.
