Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the UP2720Q monitor from Dell. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.
Display
Let's start with the size of the actual display. This is given in inches and measures the screen diagonal of the display. The monitor UP2720Q has a display size of 27 inches ( 68.4 cm on the diagonal). It should be noted, however, that displays in this category can have different dimensions, since square monitors, for example, can have the same diagonal as a widescreen monitor. Television screens and monitors usually have an aspect ratio of 16:9 (approximately 1.78:1). More rarely, computer monitors are also found with an aspect ratio of 16:10.
Ultrawidemonitors are often manufactured with an aspect ratio of 21:9 (approximately 2.34:1). They are mainly used for computer games and as an alternative to two side-by-side screens. The first devices of this type came onto the market around 2014. Against this backdrop, the monitor UP2720Q from Dell faces an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 1. In addition to the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, some enthusiasts may also be interested in the ratio between the monitor surface and the actual display. This ratio describes the general relationship between non-display and display. In other words, approximately 86.8 % of the front surface of the monitor consists of the display, while the rest consists of screen edges and cannot display an image. When setting up several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to give preference to models with the narrowest possible edges. The display is a IPS panel. The panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 px. The pixel density is 163 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.155 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer Dell is 250 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Dell promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 60 hz up to 60 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 10 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 100 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 98 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 100 %. The REC 2020 color space is covered to 80 %. "Calman Ready" is a certification awarded by the SpectraCal company and means that the UP2720Q monitor from Dell is compatible with SpectraCal's Calman software. Calman is a professional software for calibrating colors and image quality of monitors, TVs and projectors. When a monitor is designated as "Calman Ready", it means that it is capable of passing the necessary signals and information to Calman to perform accurate color correction and calibration. This feature is especially important for graphic designers, photographers, and other users who require high color accuracy and image quality.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from Dell has a static contrast ratio of 1300 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
screen design
The monitor has a width of 61.1 cm without its attached stand/stand. The height is dimensioned at about 37.6 cm , while the for the depth of the monitor should be kept free at about 21.2 cm.
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 43.3 x 61.1 x 21.2 cm (HxWxD) of space. The device weighs 9.71 kg with the stand in place. Without stand, the monitor weighs 5.55 kg. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 13 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from Dell has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 90 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The UP2720Q can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 45 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 45 degree. The monitor UP2720Q can be tilted. The angle of inclination to the rear is 21. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Power consumption
On average, the monitor consumes approximately 44 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 230 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. There are 2.8 amps specified. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The maximum height at which the monitor may be operated, according to the manufacturer's specifications, is 3.048 km. During operation, the ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C , to ensure full functionality. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from Dell should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 90 percent. At least, however, 10 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 90 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 10 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to Dell 60 °C. Minimal were given by Dell -20 °C. According to the manufacturer, the monitor may be stored at a maximum height of 12.192 km.
