Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the RoG Swift PG27VQ monitor from Asus. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.
Display
Let's start with the size of the display. It is 27 inches ( 68.5 cm on the diagonal) large and should thus offer enough space for all contents according to Asus. As already mentioned or known, monitors have a certain number of pixels in height and width. In most cases, this is not a 1:1 ratio, which is also the case with the monitor from Asus. This monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 1. This means that every 1.778 pixels in width 1 pixels in height are added. Besides the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, the ratio between the monitor surface and the actual display is probably also relevant for some enthusiasts. This is the general ratio of non-display to display. In other words, 88 % of the monitor's front area consists of the display. The remaining percent consists of screen edges and cannot display an image. If you want to place several monitors next to each other, you should make sure that the edges are as small as possible. The display is a TN panel. The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 px. The pixel density is 109 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.233 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer Asus is 400 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 170 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Asus promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 160 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the RoG Swift PG27VQ 88 khz to 240 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 60 hz up to 165 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The average response time of the monitor is about ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte.
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 70 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the NTSC 1953 color space is 72 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 95 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from Asus has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer. In contrast to the static contrast ratio, the dynamic contrast ratio changes the brightness of the panel itself in addition to the difference measurement from black to white. In addition to the difference between the brightest and the darkest pixel, the backlight is thus changed. Since the brightness of the panel may not be able to be adjusted exactly to a single pixel, a so-called halo effect is possible. The value of 20000000 : 1 of dynamic contrast ratio for the monitor RoG Swift PG27VQ cannot provide any information about the severity of the halo effect here. Therefore, it is more useful to compare the static contrast ratio.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
screen design
The monitor has a width of 61.4 cm without its attached stand/stand. The height is dimensioned at about 37 cm , while the for the depth of the monitor should be kept free at about 11.3 cm.
The size of the RoG Swift PG27VQ on the desk is likely to be particularly relevant for most users. Asus specifies a space requirement of 42.2 x 61.4 x 26.8 cm (HxWxD) with the included stand. As for the weight, Asus states a total weight of 8.46 kg with stand. Without stand, the monitor weighs 5.8 kg. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 10 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.
The monitor, or rather the built-in OS, is controlled via a 5-way joystick. This allows navigating by moving the stick up, down, left or right. The input is usually confirmed by clicking the joystick. This input method makes it possible to change settings without having to search for different buttons under or next to the device.
Curved
The RoG Swift PG27VQ is a curved monitor with a curvature of 1.8 m
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from Asus cannot be rotated. The RoG Swift PG27VQ can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 40 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 40 degree. The tilt of the monitor RoG Swift PG27VQ can be individually adjusted to optimize the viewing angle and increase comfort during use. The angle of inclination to the rear is 20. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Features
- Flicker Free: Asus 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.
- Display of 3D content, using 3D glasses
- Nvidia G-SYNC
Game mode allows you to enjoy an enhanced gaming experience on your monitor. This mode can combine different settings on your monitor to provide a better picture and therefore an improved gaming experience. Motion Blur Reduction (also referred to as Motion Blur Reduction Technology or Motion Blur Reduction Sync) is a feature of RoG Swift PG27VQ , which is used to reduce motion blur when objects move quickly on the screen. This is achieved through a combination of technologies such as backlight strobing, overdrive and others. This improves the response time of the pixels to reduce motion blur, which can be particularly beneficial for video games, action movies, or other content with fast movements. However, this feature can lead to brightness loss or flickering, so it is important to adjust the settings accordingly and choose depending on the application.
Panel manufacturer
Many manufacturers of monitors and TVs fall back on third-party manufacturers, such as Samsung or LG, when choosing the actual display (panel). Thus, many of the monitors have the same panel and, conversely, differ only in their design, additional functionalities, the software used and, of course, the price. Two monitors from Asus or another manufacturer with an identical panel do not necessarily have to have the same picture quality, but it is usually a first indicator for a purchase decision. The panel used here is originally from AU Optronics and has the model number M270DTR01.0.
WiFi / Bluetooth
Power consumption
The average consumption figure for RoG Swift PG27VQ is 67.5 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 90 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 0.5 w. In ECO mode, the monitor consumes 25 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. There are 4.74 amps specified. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
During operation, the ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C , to ensure full functionality. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from Asus should again not be used. The maximum storage temperature should be according to Asus 60 °C. Minimal were given by Asus -20 °C.
