Within this article we will take a closer look at the technical specifications of the CQ34G2 monitor from AOC. For this we will talk about all possible categories that could be relevant. To start with, we will look at the display, talk about the design and in the next section we will go into the features of the monitor. Other features such as power consumption, connectors and certifications will follow later in the text.
Display
34 inches ( 86.3 cm on the diagonal) offer sufficient space for texts in any office applications, for example. While classic CRT monitors were built with a screen ratio of 4:3, this monitor has a ratio of 2.37 : 1 (width to height). If you want to pay attention to special aesthetics or simply want to place several monitors next to each other, you should pay attention to the ratio between display and non-display. The CQ34G2 is a monitor with a ratio of 89.5 % between usable and non-usable front surface. The display is a VA panel. The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1080 px. The pixel density is 81 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.309 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer AOC is 300 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. AOC promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the CQ34G2 30 khz to 99 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 48 hz up to 75 hz. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 90 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the NTSC 1953 color space is 98 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 119 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from AOC has a static contrast ratio of 3000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer. In contrast to the static contrast ratio, the dynamic contrast ratio changes the brightness of the panel itself in addition to the difference measurement from black to white. In addition to the difference between the brightest and the darkest pixel, the backlight is thus changed. Since the brightness of the panel may not be able to be adjusted exactly to a single pixel, a so-called halo effect is possible. The value of 80000000 : 1 of dynamic contrast ratio for the monitor CQ34G2 cannot provide any information about the severity of the halo effect here. Therefore, it is more useful to compare the static contrast ratio.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
screen design
The monitor has a width of 80.8 cm without its attached stand/stand. The height is dimensioned at about 36.7 cm , while the for the depth of the monitor should be kept free at about 10.2 cm.
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 39.8 x 80.8 x 23.7 cm (HxWxD) of space. The device weighs in total (i.e. also measured with the stand) 7.4 kg. The monitor CQ34G2 without the stand weighs 5.9 kg. This weight reduction should be taken into account for wall or arm mounting, since monitor arms have a maximum load capacity. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 13 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.
Curved
The CQ34G2 is a curved monitor with a curvature of 1.5 m
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The CQ34G2 can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 30 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 30 degree. The monitor CQ34G2 can be tilted. The angle of inclination to the rear is 23. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.
Ports
The connection of a device via display port is supported. There are 2 HDMI ports on the monitor.
camera
This monitor does not have a camera.
Loudspeaker
Features
- Flicker Free: AOC 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.
Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that AOC offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor CQ34G2. The Adaptive Sync feature of the CQ34G2 dynamically varies the monitor's refresh rate and responds to the game's required frame rates.
WiFi / Bluetooth
Power consumption
On average, the monitor consumes approximately 34 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.3 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. There are 1.5 amps specified. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The maximum height at which the monitor may be operated, according to the manufacturer's specifications, is 3.657 km. For temperature, the maximum permissible ambient temperature is 40 °C. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from AOC should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 85 percent. At least, however, 10 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 90 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 5 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to AOC 60 °C. Minimal were given by AOC -20 °C. According to the manufacturer, the monitor may be stored at a maximum height of 12.192 km.
