Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the CQ30G3E from AOC.
Display
Let's start with the size of the actual display. This information is given in inches and measures the screen diagonal of the display. It can happen that displays with the same size specification have different dimensions, since square monitors, for example, can belong to the same category as a widescreen monitor. The monitor from AOC in this article has a size of 29 inches ( 74.9 cm on the diagonal). For books or documents, a portrait format layout is usually used because the reading flow decreases as the width of the text increases. For small diagonals, screens in 4:3 format have a clear advantage because they are better suited for display due to their height. In contrast, widescreen monitors are better suited for playing video games or displaying several documents side by side, for example. Depending on the application, it should be decided individually whether the aspect ratio of 2.37 : 1 is sufficient. In addition to the aspect ratios and the specified screen diagonal, some enthusiasts may also be interested in the ratio between the monitor area and the actual display. This refers to the general ratio between the non-display area and the display. In other words, approximately 89.3 % of the front surface of the monitor consists of the display, while the rest is made up of screen edges and cannot display an image. When arranging several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to choose models with the narrowest possible edges. The display is a VA panel. The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1080 px. The pixel density is 94 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.27 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer AOC is 300 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. AOC promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the CQ30G3E 30 khz to 99 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 48 hz up to 75 hz. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is 99 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the NTSC 1953 color space is 109 %. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 127 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from AOC has a static contrast ratio of 3000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer. In contrast to the static contrast ratio, the dynamic contrast ratio changes the brightness of the panel itself in addition to the difference measurement from black to white. In addition to the difference between the brightest and the darkest pixel, the backlight is thus changed. Since the brightness of the panel may not be able to be adjusted exactly to a single pixel, a so-called halo effect is possible. The value of 80000000 : 1 of dynamic contrast ratio for the monitor CQ30G3E cannot provide any information about the severity of the halo effect here. Therefore, it is more useful to compare the static contrast ratio.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
screen design
The following dimensions must be planned for a free-standing stand without attached feet/stand: 32.1 cm x 70 cm x 9 cm (HxWxD)
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 43.5 x 70 x 19.6 cm (HxWxD) of space. As for the weight, AOC states a total weight of 5.3 kg with stand. A wall mount should be designed for at least 4.8 kg to hold the CQ30G3E neatly and securely. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting.
Curved
The CQ30G3E is a curved monitor with a curvature of 1.5 m
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from AOC cannot be rotated. The monitor cannot be swiveled. This feature could be retrofitted with a third-party stand. Thanks to the tilt function of the CQ30G3E monitor, the screen position can be flexibly adjusted to minimize dazzling light sources and ensure optimum visibility. The angle of inclination to the rear is 23. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Features
- Flicker Free: AOC 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.
- AMD FreeSync: By dynamically synchronizing the refresh rate of the CQ30G3E with the frame rate, AMD FreeSync minimizes judder and ensures smooth and enjoyable gameplay.
- Picture in Picture mode
Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that AOC offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor CQ30G3E. The Adaptive Sync feature of the CQ30G3E dynamically varies the monitor's refresh rate and responds to the game's required frame rates. The monitor from AOC supports the reduction of artifacts within dark image areas, which are caused by compression of the played video files, for example. Depending on the manufacturer, this technology is called Black Boost, Dark Boost, Black Stabilizer, Black Equalizer or Black Enhancement. Motion Blur Reduction (also referred to as Motion Blur Reduction Technology or Motion Blur Reduction Sync) is a feature of CQ30G3E , which is used to reduce motion blur when objects move quickly on the screen. This is achieved through a combination of technologies such as backlight strobing, overdrive and others. This improves the response time of the pixels to reduce motion blur, which can be particularly beneficial for video games, action movies, or other content with fast movements. However, this feature can lead to brightness loss or flickering, so it is important to adjust the settings accordingly and choose depending on the application.
WiFi / Bluetooth
Power consumption
The average consumption was given by AOC as 32 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.3 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. There are 1.5 amps specified. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The maximum height at which the monitor may be operated, according to the manufacturer's specifications, is 3.657 km. During operation, the ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C , to ensure full functionality. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from AOC should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 85 percent. At least, however, 10 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 90 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 5 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to AOC 60 °C. Minimal were given by AOC -20 °C. According to the manufacturer, the monitor may be stored at a maximum height of 12.192 km.
Packaging
The monitor is packaged in a cardboard box measuring 47.2 x 90 x 22.4 cm (height x width x depth). The box together with the monitor weighs about 8.3 kg.
