Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the AG251FZ2E from AOC.
Display
The monitor belongs to the device class 24 inches ( 62.2 cm on the diagonal). As already mentioned or known, monitors have a certain number of pixels in height and width. In most cases, this is not a 1:1 ratio, which is also the case with the monitor from AOC. This monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.778 : 1. This means that every 1.778 pixels in width 1 pixels in height are added. Approximately 86.4 % of the front of the monitor is taken up by the display, while the remaining area consists of screen edges that cannot display any image information. If you want to set up several monitors next to each other, it is advisable to choose monitors with narrow edges. The display is a TN panel. The panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 px. The pixel density is 89 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.283 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer AOC is 400 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 170 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. AOC promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 160 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the AG251FZ2E 30 khz to 280 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 48 hz up to 240 hz. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H).
Color space
The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. The coverage of the Adobe RGB 1998 color space is 76 % according to the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 102 %.
Contrast ratio
Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from AOC has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer. In contrast to the static contrast ratio, the dynamic contrast ratio changes the brightness of the panel itself in addition to the difference measurement from black to white. In addition to the difference between the brightest and the darkest pixel, the backlight is thus changed. Since the brightness of the panel may not be able to be adjusted exactly to a single pixel, a so-called halo effect is possible. The value of 80000000 : 1 of dynamic contrast ratio for the monitor AG251FZ2E cannot provide any information about the severity of the halo effect here. Therefore, it is more useful to compare the static contrast ratio.
HDR
The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:
screen design
Without the stand, the monitor comes with a width of 56.6 cm , a height of 33.6 cm and about 6.1 cm.
If you want to place the monitor described here on the desk without a wall mount, you should allow for 41.5 x 56.6 x 21.8 cm (HxWxD) of space. As for the weight, AOC states a total weight of 6.5 kg with stand. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 13 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.
Rotate, tilt and swivel
The monitor from AOC has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 90 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The AG251FZ2E can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 20 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 20 degree. It is possible to adjust the tilt angle of the monitor AG251FZ2E according to personal preference to ensure ergonomic and comfortable viewing. The angle of inclination to the rear is 21. The monitor can be tilted forward by 3 degree.
Ports
The monitor can be connected via 1 VGA ports.
camera
This monitor does not have a camera.
Loudspeaker
The monitor from AOC has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The sound is emitted via 2 speakers, which are integrated into the device. Each of the built-in speakers has a contingent of 3 w power.
Features
- Flicker Free: AOC 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.
- AMD FreeSync Premium: By dynamically synchronizing the refresh rate of the AG251FZ2E with frame rate, AMD FreeSync Premium minimizes judder and ensures smooth and enjoyable gaming. In addition, AMD FreeSync Premium guarantees that the monitor operates at a minimum of 120Hz at FHD and low framerate compensation (LFC) is available.
Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that AOC offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor AG251FZ2E.
WiFi / Bluetooth
Power consumption
The average consumption was given by AOC as 24 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 0.5 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.
Environment
The maximum height at which the monitor may be operated, according to the manufacturer's specifications, is 3.657 km. During operation, the ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C , to ensure full functionality. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from AOC should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 85 percent. At least, however, 10 percent humidity. The monitor may be stored at a maximum humidity of 93 percent. The minimum humidity during storage should not fall below 5 percent. The maximum storage temperature should be according to AOC 55 °C. Minimal were given by AOC -25 °C. According to the manufacturer, the monitor may be stored at a maximum height of 12.192 km.
Packaging
The monitor is packaged in a cardboard box measuring 42 x 65.5 x 25 cm (height x width x depth). The box together with the monitor weighs about 8.7 kg.
