Light
With many lamps, the color temperature can be adjusted via app. In this model, the color temperature ranges from 2700 kelvin to 6500 kelvin. Conventional light bulbs usually consume more power than an LED lamp to provide the same illumination of the room. However, in order to be able to make a comparison between the various illuminants, the specification of the lumens is increasingly made. This is the amount of light emitted in a certain time, without paying attention to the power consumption. For comparison: A conventional light bulb with 40W power will show about 400-450 lumens. The Smarthome light considered here, on the other hand, emits 810 lumen. Typical light bulbs from the old days usually consume about 25-40 watts per hour. The smarthome light described here MSL120HK Smart WiFi LED Bulb gets by in comparison with 9 w. However, it is important to note that Meross is free to define this specification within certain limits. It is therefore possible that the power consumption may deviate slightly when the light is on at full brightness.
Design
The first step is the sustainability check: The installed light sources are permanently installed by Meross and thus unfortunately cannot be replaced. Although LEDs consume less power and have a longer lifespan, this is very annoying, especially for larger devices. With bulbs that have the electronics directly installed, a change by the manufacturer is difficult to implement. This is unfortunately a pity, but currently unavoidable. The housing is made of plastics and comes in a white color. The device has a weight of 240 g.
