Display, power consumption, dimensions, technologies used, connections, certifications, comfort features. All these keywords can be relevant for a purchase decision, but an exact comparison is often difficult. For this reason, we will summarize as many of the mentioned specifications as possible in an understandable form in the course of this article. Let's start with the most important component of the Predator X25 from Acer.

Display

Let's start with the size of the actual display. This is given in inches and measures the screen diagonal of the display. The monitor Predator X25 has a display size of 24 inches ( 62.2 cm on the diagonal). It should be noted, however, that displays in this category can have different dimensions, since square monitors, for example, can have the same diagonal as a widescreen monitor. While classic CRT monitors were built with a screen ratio of 4:3, this monitor has a ratio of 1.778 : 1 (width to height). The display is a IPS panel. The panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 px. The pixel density is 89 ppi. The pixel pitch is 0.283 mm. The continuous possible brightness specified by the manufacturer Acer is 350 cd/m2. The monitor's panel reaches a peak brightness of 400 nt. The panel is illuminated by W-LED. The built-in panel ensures stable color reproduction of the image, even at deviating viewing angles, by means of its 178 ° (horizontal) viewing angle. Acer promises stable color reproduction moreover within a 178 ° vertical angle. The refresh rate is horizontally seen at the Predator X25 30 khz to 466 khz. Vertically, however, the image renews at a minimum rate of 50 hz up to 360 hz. The minimum response time of the monitor is ms. The display panel is Anti-glare/Matte (3H). The 'Adaptive Brightness' technology of the Predator X25 monitor provides automatic adjustment of the screen brightness to enable comfortable viewing. This feature ensures that the screen always stays within a comfortable brightness range, minimizing eye strain.

Color space

The panel has a bit depth of 8 per color channel, but what does that mean? The number of bits determines how many colors can be encoded for the individual pixels of the display. For an 8-bit panel, for example, this is 256 different colors (2^8 = 256). However, since we usually display three different colors per pixel at the same time, in theory about 16 million (256^3) different colors are possible by mixing the three pixels. A 10-bit panel could even display a billion colors. According to the manufacturer, the coverage of the SRGB color space is 99 %.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is a common measurement used to represent the maximum relative differences in brightness between black and white. It describes the ability of a screen or projector to produce a high-contrast image and is the quotient of the maximum and minimum displayable luminance. The higher the values are away from each other, the stronger the quantitatively seen difference between black and white is set up, which in turn results in an improved image quality. This monitor from Acer has a static contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 , according to the manufacturer.

HDR

The monitor supports all HDR modes listed here:

  • HDR 400

screen design

The size of the monitor (stand included) is 41.1 x 55.7 x 23.6 cm (HxWxD). If you want to place the monitor on a table or even transport it, you should expect a weight of 5.88 kg with the stand screwed in. The monitor Predator X25 without the stand weighs 3.83 kg. This weight reduction should be taken into account for wall or arm mounting, since monitor arms have a maximum load capacity. Speaking of weight without a stand and thus wall or table mounts. The monitor supports a Vesa mounting. A height-adjustable stand ensures an improved ergonomic posture during use. The monitor can be moved to a maximum height of 11.5 cm. This value is always measured from the bottom edge of the screen.

Rotate, tilt and swivel

The monitor from Acer has a pivot function and can thus be rotated using the included stand. A rotation to the left is possible with up to 90 degree. To the right, the monitor can be rotated by 90 degree. The Predator X25 can be swiveled when mounted on the included stand. Pivoting to the left is possible up to 20 degree. Pivoting to the right is possible up to 20 degree. It is possible to adjust the tilt angle of the monitor Predator X25 according to personal preference to ensure ergonomic and comfortable viewing. The angle of inclination to the rear is 25. The monitor can be tilted forward by 5 degree.

Ports

camera

This monitor does not have a camera.

Loudspeaker

The monitor from Acer has integrated speakers, for playing sounds, music or speech. The sound is emitted via 2 speakers, which are integrated into the device. Each of the built-in speakers has a contingent of 2 w power.

Features

  • Flicker Free: Acer 's Flicker Free technology minimizes distracting screen flicker, allowing you to work and/or play longer without restrictions.
  • AMD FreeSync: By dynamically synchronizing the refresh rate of the Predator X25 with the frame rate, AMD FreeSync minimizes judder and ensures smooth and enjoyable gameplay.
  • Nvidia G-SYNC

Anyone who works a lot on the computer spends many hours a day in front of the screen. Excessive screen work can damage the eyes. This effect can be particularly pronounced during the darker hours and in the winter months. Many monitor manufacturers have now reacted and offer technologies and settings to reduce the blue component, which is primarily controversial. Depending on the manufacturer, these can be called "Low Blue Light", "Low Blue Light Technology", "SoftBlue" or even "Eye Saver Mode" and function differently. However, it is only important that Acer offers a technology to reduce the blue content in its monitor Predator X25. The Adaptive Sync feature of the Predator X25 dynamically varies the monitor's refresh rate and responds to the game's required frame rates. The monitor from Predator X25 has a proximity sensor, which is normally used to detect the presence of a person or object in the immediate vicinity of the screen. This technology is commonly found in computer monitors, televisions and other display devices. The main purpose of a proximity sensor on a monitor is to save power and extend the life of the screen. When the sensor detects that no one is in front of the screen, it automatically turns off the backlight or puts the screen into a power saving mode to conserve energy. This can be especially useful if the monitor is rarely used or if it is used in a public area.

WiFi / Bluetooth

Power consumption

On average, the monitor consumes approximately 37 w. The maximum power consumption (peak) specified for this monitor is 95 w. In standby mode, the device consumes approximately 0.5 w. When switched off, on the other hand, the monitor consumes only 0.3 w. The monitor can be operated on a 110v power supply. The monitor can be operated on a 220v power supply. The power grid has to supply a frequency of 50 hz to 60 hz.

Environment

The maximum height at which the monitor may be operated, according to the manufacturer's specifications, is 5 km. During operation, the ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C , to ensure full functionality. Below a temperature of 0 °C , the monitor from Acer should again not be used. The humidity must not exceed 80 percent. At least, however, 20 percent humidity. According to the manufacturer, the monitor may be stored at a maximum height of 12.192 km.
