Specifications

The company Ledvance offers with its product SMART+ Filament Globe Dimmable a smarthome solution in the field of lighting. We have categorized this product as Bulb.

Communication

What would smart devices in our household be if they could not communicate with each other? Most likely not smart! For this reason, Ledvance has provided one or more of the following communication channels for integration:

  • Zigbee
Attention. You must have a special Smarthome Hub to use the smart functions of this light.

Supported functions

The following features/functions are supported by this device:

  • Switch the light on or off via your smartphone or the Bridge.
  • Change the brightness.
  • The luminaire can be configured to emit a white light.
  • Automatic switch-on behavior.

Third party integrations

Don't want to use the integration/bridge that the manufacturer Ledvance specifies? That's not a problem. See the list below for all verified integrations that work with SMART+ Filament Globe Dimmable :

Light

With many lamps, the color temperature can be adjusted via app. In this model, the color temperature ranges from 2400 kelvin to 2400 kelvin. The lumen specification describes the brightness of the illuminant. The higher this value is, the brighter the room is illuminated. A 60W incandescent bulb has an average of about 700 lumens, a 60W halogen tube as well. The smart bulb under consideration here emits about 680 lumen according to the manufacturer's information from Ledvance. Ledvance has defined the power consumption for the devices described here with 6 w. However, the specification may differ from the actual power consumption depending on which colors/color temperatures and brightnesses are set. For example, while manufacturers mostly measure lumens at white color and full brightness, the power consumption might have been measured at slight dimming. However, it would also be possible to measure at full brightness, which could lower the power consumption at 6 w. In short, this is an approximate guide from Ledvance.

Design

Unfortunately, in this case, we have to start with bad news regarding the design, because the sustainability aspect was neglected in the light sources installed in the device. The manufacturer did not take the replacement of the bulbs into account, which means that the entire device has to be replaced. The housing is made of golden plastic/glas. This light weighs 90 g.

Protection

The IP rating classifies and evaluates the level of protection that mechanical and electrical enclosures provide against ingress, dust, accidental contact and water. These smarthome lights are classified as IP20.
