Communication

What would smart devices in our household be if they could not communicate with each other? Most likely not smart! For this reason, Ledvance has provided one or more of the following communication channels for integration:

  • Zigbee
To control this device, you must own or purchase a corresponding hub.

Supported functions

The following features/functions are supported by this device:

  • Switch the light on or off via your smartphone or the Bridge.
  • Change the brightness.
  • The luminaire can be configured to emit a white light.
  • Automatic switch-on behavior.

Third party integrations

Don't want to use the integration/bridge that the manufacturer Ledvance specifies? That's not a problem. See the list below for all verified integrations that work with Smart+ Bulb Filament E27 :

Light

With many lamps, the color temperature can be adjusted via app. In this model, the color temperature ranges from 2400 kelvin to 2400 kelvin. Conventional light bulbs usually consume more power than an LED lamp to provide the same illumination of the room. However, in order to be able to make a comparison between the various illuminants, the specification of the lumens is increasingly made. This is the amount of light emitted in a certain time, without paying attention to the power consumption. For comparison: A conventional light bulb with 40W power will show about 400-450 lumens. The Smarthome light considered here, on the other hand, emits 680 lumen. Ledvance has defined the power consumption for the devices described here with 6 w. However, the specification may differ from the actual power consumption depending on which colors/color temperatures and brightnesses are set. For example, while manufacturers mostly measure lumens at white color and full brightness, the power consumption might have been measured at slight dimming. However, it would also be possible to measure at full brightness, which could lower the power consumption at 6 w. In short, this is an approximate guide from Ledvance.

Design

Unfortunately, in this case, we have to start with bad news regarding the design, because the sustainability aspect was neglected in the light sources installed in the device. The manufacturer did not take the replacement of the bulbs into account, which means that the entire device has to be replaced. Ledvance chose plastic/glas as the casing material. The color was kept in golden. You should expect the product weight to be around 40 g.

Protection

The IP rating classifies and evaluates the level of protection that mechanical and electrical enclosures provide against ingress, dust, accidental contact and water. These smarthome lights are classified as IP20.
